About M.E.
Bio
As a Houston native and co-founder of Fine Arts Forward, I have dedicated my career to supporting BIPOC artists and students. I hold a B.F.A. in Performance from the University of Houston and an M.F.A. in Creative Producing from CalArts. My experience teaching and directing theater in FBISD and Alief ISD has fueled my passion for creating safe spaces for artistic expression. I am now an independent producer, committed to advancing the voices of marginalized communities.
Fine Arts Forward
Fine Arts Forward supports BIPOC artists, student artists, and emerging arts professionals by providing free and open-sourced information, resources, and exposure. We aim to create an artist network within the Houston community that promotes access to the arts for everyone, regardless of their background. Our organization also advocates for the safety and autonomy of artists and arts educators, as well as the development of the creative landscape of Houston. Our goal is to create a space where the arts are equitable, diverse, and inclusive.
